Wholey Seafood - Just One of Our Many Success Stories
We work very closely with a number of American importers, one of which is Irish Provenance. Through this connection we received an enquiry from Wholey Seafood in the USA. They needed some help with a range of sauces for a boil in the bag product they were planning to launch in the very near future.
We got cracking right away by working closely with the client to develop an in-depth brief and understanding of their goals. This involved getting to grips with the manufacturing process, the temperature changes involved, the range and quality of the fish, how it was to be sold to market and how the retail customer is advised to cook and serve the finished product.
Our NPD team was committed to fulfilling the requirements of the completed brief so that they could produce a range of options for Wholey Seafood to consider.
Clint Fulton, NPD chef on the Wholey project said “This was certainly a challenge due to the timescale but also the range of functionality that was required by the sauce to achieve a high quality end dish, as it needed to be freeze-thaw stable, and to withstand various water content levels from each of the fish types we were using.”
We are really proud of the work we did with Wholey. Our NPD team worked hard to develop the final range of 7 products. These were launched at the prestigious International Boston Seafood Show 2010 and were received very well. Market interest and consumer feedback was outstanding and the show culminated in the Wholey Boil in the Bag range winning ‘Best New Retail Product Finalist’.
